Taismo the Wedding

     Bells rang with delight as the ceremony began. Music began to play, many gathered on this important day, history was to be made. Tails followed the priest to the front of the church, his eyes scanned the dozens of unfamiliar faces both smiling and frowning.

     “I was afraid of this, why do some of them hate that I'm marrying Cosmo?” Tails whispered to himself.

     Tails did not know, and he did not care. He was happy. The priest began the ceremony. Sonic walked to the front of the church to stand beside Tails. He leaned over.

     “Looking snazzy little brother…” Sonic says, winking at Tails.

     The tall oak doors opened and Cosmo accompanied with her father Lucas entered.

     Sonic chuckled, “Looks like Cosmo out did ya!”

     Tails refused to argue with that, Cosmo was beautiful in her preferred attire of a green dress with her amulet, but today she looked like an angel. Her new green dress looked as delicate as she was, although Tails laughed at the idea of Cosmo being considered delicate. A flash of Cosmo kicking his butt in soccer momentarily made him fight the urge to laugh. But there was more to Cosmo than a new dress, Amy sat in the front row watching Tail's face as he looked upon Cosmo's eyeliner among other makeup Amy spent an hour applying, the lace around the blooming rosebuds in her hair looked as if they belonged there forever.

     Cosmo arrived at the altar, her eyes had never lost Tails in the moment he was watching her. Lucas released the arm lock around his daughter's arm and turned to Tails, what he thought was beyond Tail's reckoning. But Lucas decided to end the mental message there and went to sit with Earthia who was crying with happiness. Thankfully no one, besides Earthia, knew he had been Dark Oak.

     Fitting it was that they made it to this ceremony, Earthia had control over the Seedrians in the afterlife, and had been granted a week to be with Cosmo. Galaxina and her husband agreed to come, Cosmo's other sisters couldn’t refused, because they could not bear to miss their sister’s wedding.

     Tails looks upon her. It was then time for Tails to repeat his vows;

     “Cosmo, I am so happy to be here today,” he starts, “When I thought you died I lost a part of me, you're the only person who thought I was working too hard even when I was okay with it. It's an inventor's pride to hear admiration of his own work, but even more so when someone realizes the amount of sweat and heart it truly takes me to be inspired. When I first saw you again, I couldn't control myself from how much I missed you. I told you right there how much I cared, and you surprised me with how much you cared. I promise I will do anything to make you happy, Cosmo. You are my air, for I can’t breathe without you, and you are my heart, for I cannot live without you. My world is a better place because of you. Cosmo, I love you and everything that makes you who you are.”

      As Cosmo repeated her vows, Cosmo took the time to think about their future.

     “Tails, I love being with you. You always were there to cheer me up when I paled in abilities compared to everyone else. I wanted to tell you but I could not. When the spiritual flower finally bloomed and transformed I was so happy to be back with you so you could be as kind to me as you were. I watched you lose yourself crying as you held me for the first time after the defeat of the Metarex, it was then I knew how much you cared. I remember how you stubbed your toe with the hammer you were using, you dropped it upon seeing me while you were tinkering with one of your machines, and I regret laughing at that moment, but you laughed at yourself and regained the youthful determination to get your machine to work. You are my strength when I am weak and faith when I lose hope. I am grateful for each day you give me, and though I may not be as smart as you, I do know one thing; I will always be blessed because I am loved by you. You were always there for me, I promise I will always be with you through whatever projects you work on, I love you Tails”

     “Do you, Cosmo, take this Fox to love and cherish forever, through the worst of times as well as the best, till death do you part?”

     “I do,” Cosmo says smiling as tears of joyfulness slowly escape from her eyes.

     “And do you Tails take this Seedrian, to love and cherish forever, through the worst of times as well as the best, till death do you part?”

     Tails sighed as he looks upon Cosmo, then smiles at her while looking deeply into her eyes.

     “No…”

     The crowd gasps before Tails could finish. Whispers were heard within the crowd. Sonic then asks “What’s the matter bro, don’t tell me you are having second thoughts.”

     Tails shakes and head and continues, “I will not only love and cherish you till death does us part. Death cannot stop my love that I have in you; for even in the spirit after death, I will always love and cherish you.”

     Tears and awes begin to fill the crowds’ faces, as Cosmo lunges at Tails, in waterfalls of tears, “Tails you had me worried there for a second. I love you so much.”

     “Ahem” the priest interrupts, as he himself was tearing up. Cosmo returns to her spot on the alter and patiently waits for the priest to continue. “Then by the power vested in me, I declare this Fox and Seedrian together for all eternity,” He finishes in an exalting voice.


     Amy was jealous how much those to love each other. “OH why couldn't it be me and Sonic, oh well I got him anyway.” Amy winked at Sonic who then rolled his eyes.

     Tails and Cosmo took a step forward grabbed each other’s hands and stood there for what seemed like hours, murmurs were going through the rows as they just stood there. Tails had not been accustomed to kissing Cosmo so passionately in public, let alone in front of more than a hundred. Cosmo also hesitated because of her father, who agreed to let this happen but still couldn't believe what he was seeing.


     Then their lips met. The kiss went slowly, and deeper, their mouths opened and closed. Tails had started propelling with his Tails when they began kissing and now had blushed so hard because he and Cosmo were lifted into the air. Cries of awe and shock left the crowd as they went higher, the sun cut the light through the window pane onto them, symbolizing the special moment. Cosmo had broken the kiss and looked down, sweat begin to pour from her head.

     “Tails…” Cosmo says nervously

     “Cosmo…” Tails replies.

      She looked up at him, he looked back at her with such warmth and love that she forgot they were flying and kissed him again. Tails felt as if his heart would explode out of his chest. Amy started ranting on how jealous she was because Tails’ and Cosmo’s wedding is more romantic than her’s and Sonic’s. No one shushed her because they were transfixed by the scene, as Tails slowed his tails, as Cosmo and Tails floated back down together.

       The Priest closed the book and declared them husband and wife. Cosmo then turns her back to the crowd and launches the bouquet of flowers in to them. Rouge saw the flowers flying through the air and immediately flies up to catch it. She lowers herself right up next to Knuckles and says, “See sugar, now you have to marry me.” Knuckles blushes as he turns his head and declares, “I would have to have gone completely batty to marry you!” Rouge laughed and says, “You’re cute when you‘re angry, sugar”

     Sonic was touched by all this, the friend he had always considered a brother is finally getting married and to make it better Sonic was his best man. He looked at Amy who had been touched by the kiss and everything that happened with it. Sonic grew guilty for being the way he was with Amy, and envied Tails marriage with Cosmo. Everyone had changed around him, so it felt wrong that he stayed the same. Could…Amy be the one to change him. He thought about being more open with Amy and to give her a chance. Maybe then will he realized why he agreed to marry her. Sonic dismissed the thought for later, today was Tails’ day to enjoy. Sonic smiled.
Hand in hand, Cosmo and Tails went outside. Their marriage had been recorded for all to see, many believing crossing species to be wrong.

    During the reception, conversations were being carried across the church.

    “Cosmo, I’m so jealous of you!” Amy as she hugged her.

    The two broke the hug “Jealous Amy, of what?  Do not tell me you wanted to marry Tails!”

   “No silly, I’m jealous that your wedding was much more romantic than mine and Sonic’s wedding. You guys’ vows where simply beautiful. I wish Sonic would’ve said such things.”

    “Well what did he say in his vows?” Cosmo ask

    “He practically repeated what the priest asked us but not in question form, and said that the he’s ready to give up the fast life and try moving at a slower pace to make me happy.”

    “Aww, that’s sweet Amy,”

    “Yeah, but Sonic still thinks mostly of himself, though.”

    “I am sure things will get better with time, Amy.” Cosmo assured.

    “Thanks Cosmo.”

    “Cosmo, come over here for a second!” Cosmo looked around then saw Vector waving his arms next to Espio and Charmy.

    “Go on Cosmo, I’ll go over to see what Sonic and Tails are talking about.”

    “Ok” Cosmo said as the two went their separate ways.

     After the conversation with Knuckles and Rouge, Tails walks up to Sonic and thanks him for being his best man. “No problem Tails! I sure would have loved it if you were there for my wedding though.”

     “Sorry about that Sonic,” Tails says while scratching the back of his head. “I know!” Tails says excitedly, “how about we redo yours and Amy’s wedding! It could be set up like a play!”

     “That’s a good idea, Tails! I’m sure Amy would love to redo it. Ours wasn’t quite as good as yours, and after witnessing this wedding. I think I can do better for Amy. She deserves better.” Tails smiled as he noticed Amy behind Sonic as he said that. Amy was so pleased to hear Sonic think of her for a change. Amy leaves the two to talk alone.

     “Sonic…”

     “What is it Tails?”

     “I wish that Eggman was here. He might have had evil intentions but in the past he has proven to have a good heart.”

     “I miss that old Egg-head too buddy. Believe it or not before he passed away he left all of his inventions and laboratories to you.”

     “HE DID! Sonic why did you wait till now to tell me!?”

     “Woh now Tails, It’s been six years since he has been gone and ten years since I’ve last seen you, so I kind of forgot.”

     “It’s ok Sonic, evil genius or not I will always consider him a rival and a friend not an enemy.”

     “Me too Tails, me too.”

     Sonic and Tails finished their conversation and joined up with the others at the party where everyone was having a good time. Tails and Cosmo had a toast to them in hopes of a long and happy marriage. Sonic began to be more caring towards Amy and started planning their ‘re-wedding.’ Music began to play and everyone started dancing. Towards the end of the party ‘Because You Loved Me’came on and Tails and Cosmo had the floor. Surrounded in a circle of friends, they danced gracefully and beautifully. Then song ends and the two passionately kissed. Everyone was touched by how much the two cared for each other. “This is the happiest day in my life,” Cosmo says gazing deeply into Tails’ eyes.

      “Mine too,” Tails replies. But we have the rest of it to live, so what do you say Mrs. Cosmo Prower? Let’s head home.”

     Cosmo nods her head, “Ok, let’s go”

     Later, in the limo…that Tails built.

     “I love you Cosmo.”

     Blushing, “Tails you scared the pollen out of me back there.”

     “It wasn't planned, believe me,” Tails said quickly in an apologetic way.

     Cosmo asks, “Everyone sacrificed so much for us, how can I deserve any of this?”

     “You did bring peace to the galaxy…”

     “…and do not forget, you too saved the galaxy from Dark Oak and the Metarex.”

     “Then it's settled, we deserve this,” Tails laughs

     Cosmo laughs and snuggled into Tails, who wrapped his tails around them “Thank you, Tails”

     “What for?” he asks, unsure of the last thing he did to deserve thanks.

     “For treating me special.” She then rests her head on Tails shoulder and falls asleep smiling after a long and very eventful day.

     Tails smiles, “You’re welcome, Cosmo, my love.” Tails kisses Cosmo on her head and lets his head fall gentle against hers and fell asleep as well. The limo continues in to the beautiful sunset where Tails and Cosmo can start there new life together, forever.
